Registration Process for the Exempted Calculation of Health Insurance

Registration Process

  • STEP 01

    Make an appointment
    • (in-person/phone appointments)
  • STEP 02

    Request the issuance of a "Registration Application for Exempted Health Insurance Calculation" from the attending physician
  • STEP 03

    Submit the registration application to the officer in charge of the exempted calculation at the Patient Administration Office
    • Be sure to write a correct address to receive the "registration certificate" issued by the National Health Insurance Service
  • STEP 04

    Return home
    • You can submit the application form either through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) or in person.

Eligibility Criteria for Benefits

A patient who has suffered from a severe disease
  • Patients are responsible for 5% of the total health care benefit cost in the case of outpatient consultation or hospitalization covered by health care benefits
  • Eligibility: Attached Table 3 of the Standards for Special Cases for Calculation of Partial Contributions
A patient who has suffered from a rare, incurable disease
  • Article 5 of the Standards for Special Cases for Calculation of Partial Contributions
  • Eligibility: Attached Table 4 of the Standards for Special Cases for Calculation of Partial Contributions
