What is Home Hospice Care?

This service enables terminal cancer patients and their families to remain where they most wish to be. A hospice team, including physicians and physician assistants, visits the home to provide comprehensive physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care, helping patients maintain a high quality of life and experience comfort.

How to Apply

Inpatients

  • Apply for home hospice through your attending physician or physician assistant
  • Patients from other departments may apply after a consultation with the Family Medicine Department (Palliative Care Service)

Outpatients

Visit the Family Medicine Department (Palliative Care Service) for an outpatient consultation, then apply for home hospice service

Patients from Other Hospitals

Bring a medical opinion letter or diagnosis certificate from your current hospital and apply for home hospice care after consulting at the Family Medicine Department (Palliative Care Service)

Application Process

  • Apply at the Family Medicine Department (Palliative Care Service) outpatient clinic or upon discharge

  • Receive a consultation with the home hospice physician assistant

  • Complete and sign the Consent Form for Palliative Care Service

Cost of Home Hospice Services

A 5% copayment is applied for each home hospice visit

End-of-life care add-on If end-of-life care or death-related preparation is provided prior to or on the day of death, a 30% additional charge is applied
Additional Information
  • A 5% copayment applies to any additional medical procedures or prescriptions
  • Full exemption for persons of distinguished service to the state for total cost relief
  • Partial exemption for families of persons of distinguished service to the state, war veterans, and those with military honors, based on applicable reduction rates
  • A KRW 100,000 deposit must be prepaid to the Administration Office (additional payments are requested if the deposit is insufficient; any remaining balance is settled at discharge)

Number of Visits

There is no limit on the number of visits; frequency may be adjusted depending on the patient’s disease progression and condition
