  • Recipients of the military merit award and the national service merit award
    Fee reduction rate : 60% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

  • Persons of merit for the April 19 Revolution
    Fee reduction rate : 60% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

    Article 4, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 12 of the Act on the Honorable Treatment of Persons of Distinguished Service to the State

  • Persons of distinguished service for a special mission
    Fee reduction rate : 60% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

    Article 4, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 17 of the Act on the Honorable Treatment of Persons of Distinguished Service to the State

  • Bereaved families of persons of distinguished service to the state
    Fee reduction rate : 60% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

    Persons eligible under Article 5 of the Act on the Honorable Treatment of Persons of Distinguished Service to Independence and persons eligible under Article 5 of the Act on the Honorable Treatment and Support of Persons of Distinguished Service to the State

  • Persons killed or missing in the May 18 Democratization Movement
    Fee reduction rate : 60% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

    A family member or relative of a person falling under Article 4, Subparagraphs 1 or 2 of the Act on the Honorable Treatment of Persons of Distinguished Service to the May 18 Democratization Movement, who is eligible under Article 5 of the same Act

  • Other victims of the May 18 Democratization Movement
    Fee reduction rate : 50% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

    Person falling under Article 4, Subparagraph 3 of the Act on the Honorable Treatment of Persons of Distinguished Service to the May 18 Democratization Movement

  • Family member of other victims of the May 18 Democratization Movement
    Fee reduction rate : 30% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

    Family members or relatives of those who fall under Article 4, Subparagraph 3 of the Act on the Honorable Treatment of Persons of Distinguished Service to the May 18 Democratization Movement

  • Founding military personnel and long-term military service
    Fee reduction rate : 50% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

    Those who fall under Article 20, Paragraph 1 of the Support for Veterans Act

  • War veterans and war service merit recipients
    Fee reduction rate : 90% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

    Those who fall under Article 2, Paragraph 2 of the Act on Honorable Treatment of War Veterans and Establishment of Related Associations

  • Bereaved family members of persons who died, went missing, or were injured in the course of special missions, as well as contributors and their bereaved family members
    Fee reduction rate : 60% of the patient’s share of medical expenses

    Those who fall under Article 3, Subparagraph 3, and Article 4 of the Act on the Support for Persons Performing Special Missions and the Establishment of Related Organizations

  • A person recognized by the hospital director as necessary for group medical treatment or maternal and child health services
    Fee reduction rate : 30% of the patient’s share of medical expenses
  • Scope of Family Members: Parents, spouse, children (grandchildren are also included for persons of distinguished service to independence), and daughters-in-law (eligible for fee reduction only if registered before July 1, 2009; those registered after that date are not eligible)
  • Family Members Not Eligible for Fee Reduction: For founding military members, long-term service veterans, and war veterans, only the individual is eligible for the fee reduction; family members are not included
  • Not Covered by the Fee Reduction: Meal charges, blood transfusion fees, certificate issuance fees, medical material costs, dental prosthetics fees, assistive device costs, and higher-class ward room charges
  • Fee reduction benefits are available only after registration with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.
