Emergency Room On-duty Departments : Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Neurology, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, and Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine

Article 2, Paragraph 1, Emergency Medical Service Act : An “emergency patient” refers to a person who, due to illness, childbirth, injury from an accident or disaster, or any other critical condition, is determined to require immediate emergency treatment to preserve life or prevent serious harm to physical or mental health.

Emergency Symptoms

  • Neurological Emergency Symptoms : Acute loss of consciousness, acute neurological deficits, and head injury accompanied by vomiting or loss of consciousness
  • Cardiovascular Emergency Symptoms : Conditions requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), acute respiratory distress, acute chest pain due to heart disease, and arrhythmia and shock

Symptoms Requiring Emergency Care

  • Neurological Emergency Symptoms : Altered consciousness
  • Cardiovascular Emergency Symptoms : Dyspnea

Emergency management fee

In accordance with the Ministry of Health and Welfare Notification (effective April 1, 2000), all patients visiting the hospital’s emergency room are subject to an emergency management fee. For non-emergency patients, this fee must be fully paid by the patient.
