In areas without a VHS Hospital or where VHS Hospitals are located far away, private hospitals are designated as consignment hospitals to ensure that persons of distinguished service to the state and other eligible persons can conveniently receive medical treatment at nearby medical institutions.

Inpatient treatment is limited to 30 days (up to 90 days for long-term care hospitals).
If treatment exceeds this period or the government-funded medical cost exceeds 3 million KRW, patients will be transferred to a Veterans Hospital unless there are special circumstances.
Visit the designated hospital, present your Persons of Distinguished Service to the State ID Card or Resident Registration Card to verify your eligibility as a government-funded patient, and receive medical treatment.
