  • Pathology
Pathology is the study of the cause and nature of disease along with anatomical and functional changes, broadly classified into two areas: basic (experimental) pathology and hospital (diagnostic) pathology. Basic pathology is responsible for medical research and the education of medical students, while hospital pathology processes various tissues and specimens collected from the patient's body to diagnose the patient's disease using microscopy, immunology, and molecular biological methods. Based on this, the Department of Anatomic Pathology observes the morphological changes of tissues obtained from human organs through biopsy, histopathology, cytopathology, aspiration biopsy, and autopsy, providing crucial information for the treatment and prognosis of diseases by making accurate diagnoses.
In this sense, clinical pathology can be seen as playing a bridging role between basic medicine and clinical medicine.

    [Equipment Introduction]
The main equipment in our department includes the following:

    - Tissue Embedding System : A product of Shandon, UK, responsible for the embedding process.
    - Autostainer : A product of Shandon, UK, responsible for the staining process of tissues and cells.
    - Cytospin : Cytospin A product of Shandon, UK, necessary for preparing appropriate slides for cytology testing.
