Hi-Pass Medical Billing Information

What is the Hi-Pass Medical Billing (Postpayment) Service?

This is a fast and convenient postpayment service that allows patients or guardians to register a credit or debit card with the hospital, enabling all consultation and test fees to be charged automatically without visiting the payment counter.

Hi-Pass (Postpayment) Process

STEP01 Outpatient Consultation / STEP02 Testing / STEP03 Return Home / STEP04 Automatic lump-sum payment the following day

Inpatients may also use this service for interim or temporary discharge payments.

How to Apply for Hi-Pass (Postpayment)
  • Bring your credit card and ID to the administrative payment counter(open 8:00 am –5:00 pm) for registration.

    Corporate and overseas-issued cards cannot be used.
    Only the patient’s or a direct family member’s card may be registered. One card can be registered for both the patient and their immediate family.

  • For convenience, you can fill out the application form (available at the hospital information desk) in advance.
After Hi-Pass Registration
  • Consultations and tests can be performed without advance payment.
  • For external prescriptions, press the “Hi-Pass” button on the unmanned payment kiosk to print your prescription.
    (Note: Unscheduled blood tests and general imaging tests must be prepaid.)

For certain in-hospital prescriptions (e.g., injections, orthopedic casts), the Hi-Pass service is unavailable — please make payment separately at the counter or kiosk.

Cases Requiring Manual Payment even after Hi-Pass Registration
  • Payment by daughter-in-law (not direct family)
  • Medical benefit recipients
  • Automobile or industrial accident insurance claims
  • Prescriptions filled by a guardian on behalf of the patient
  • Patients currently hospitalized in another (rehabilitation) facility
Additional Information
  • Payments can also be made with a different card at the counter or kiosk.
  • Hi-Pass payments are processed as a one-time lump-sum charge. If you wish to switch to installment payment, contact the billing office (Phone: +82-2-2225-4538) within 7 days of the payment date.
  • Receipts are issued upon request after ID verification at the payment counter.
  • If your credit card has been reissued, expired, lost, or suspended, please visit the payment counter in person to reapply for the Hi-Pass service. (Registration by phone is not available.)
  • Please note that cards registered through the VHS Medical Center mobile app are not linked to the Hi-Pass service.

A text message reminder service is provided one month before the card’s expiration date.
