As the central hub of veterans’ healthcare in Korea, the VHS Medical Center has dramatically improved its medical environment through the construction of a new main building and the remodeling of existing facilities, striving to meet the honor and pride of 950,000 veterans in Seoul and 2 million veterans nationwide.
With the expansion to 1,400 beds, the VHS Medical Center has established Korea’s first integrated medical system, combining acute care, rehabilitation, and long-term care hospitals to provide comprehensive treatment across all stages of illness. The acute care hospital has enhanced its medical and research capabilities to achieve a level comparable to that of a tertiary hospital, serving as the central hub for the five regional VHS Hospitals nationwide. Meanwhile, the Rehabilitation Center has evolved into an integrated rehabilitation facility, organically linking the functions of the Prosthetics & Orthotics Center and the Rehabilitation Sports Center to support patients’ physical and psychological recovery as well as their return to daily life.
The Long-Term Care Hospital works in close coordination with the Acute Care Hospital and the Rehabilitation Center, providing specialized medical services to support the ongoing health maintenance and recovery of persons of distinguished service to the state.
