The Brain and Spinal Tumor Center at the VHS Medical Center has established a multidisciplinary care system comprising specialists from Neurosurgery, Hematology & Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, and Pathology.
These specialists establish a patient-centered, coordinated system from diagnosis to treatment, collaborating closely to ensure rapid diagnosis and the delivery of optimal, individualized care for each patient.
The center provides diagnosis and treatment across the full spectrum of brain tumors, ranging from common benign tumors such as meningiomas and pituitary adenomas to malignant tumors, including metastatic brain tumors and glioblastomas. The center performs surgical procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors, ranging from biopsies to surgical resections. In addition to surgical treatment, the center provides post-operative care, including chemotherapy and radiation therapy, ensuring thorough management throughout the treatment process.
The center provides surgical treatment for both benign and malignant spinal tumors. In addition, postoperative care is closely coordinated with medication management and radiation therapy to ensure thorough care.
