Currently, most persons of distinguished service to the state are aging, and the prevalence of neurological disorders such as dementia is steadily increasing. Our research team conducts experiments and studies on the nervous system to support the advancement of neuroscience within the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and to improve medical care for persons of distinguished service to the state.
Our major initiatives are divided into research, academic, and international collaboration projects as outlined below.
STEP 01 Research Projects
- 1Development and operation of a registry and data bank for patients with dementia
- 2Basic, clinical, and pharmacological studies on patients with dementia
- 3Development and operation of a registry and data bank for patients with stroke
- 4Development and operation of a registry and data bank for patients with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- 5Basic and clinical research on Parkinson’s disease
- 6Basic and clinical research on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- 7Electrophysiological studies on the functions of the nervous system
STEP 02 Academic Projects
- 1Hosting regular academic seminars with invited experts from Korea and abroad
- 2Organizing symposia on brain and neurological disorders
- 3Holding public lectures on neurological diseases for the general public
STEP 03 International Collaborations
Establishing mutual exchange and collaboration systems with overseas research institutes for research and educational activities related to the brain and nervous system
