What is Consultative Hospice Care?

Consultative hospice care is provided for terminal cancer patients who do not wish to move to a specialized hospice ward or who need a gradual adaptation period. A hospice and palliative care team—including a physician, nurse, and social worker—visits the patient without changing the attending physician.

The team provides physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care to patients and their families, helping to alleviate suffering and enabling them to spend their final moments comfortably.

Additionally, the team helps reduce grief and distress for bereaved families, thereby contributing to an improved quality of life for both patients and their families.
