What are Hospice and Palliative Care Services?

A service that provides physical, social, psychological, and spiritual care to terminal cancer patients and their families when a cure is no longer possible, helping them maintain a high quality of life and live comfortably.

Eligible Patients

  • Terminal cancer patients for whom active cancer treatments (such as surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy) are no longer beneficial to their course of the disease
  • Terminal cancer patients whose overall condition has deteriorated or who can no longer receive active cancer treatment due to severe side effects
  • Terminal cancer patients who require only pain relief and symptom management
  • Terminal cancer patients recommended for hospice and palliative care by their attending physician
  • Patients or families who, after accepting the physician’s diagnosis and discussing the prognosis, choose to receive non-curative hospice and palliative care focused on pain and symptom relief
  • Terminal cancer patients who personally wish to receive hospice and palliative care services
